A graduation medallion will be presented to each player who is present at the awards ceremony that will wrap up each camp. The medallions represent YAS’ unique triple objective:
(a) to develop and improve basketball skills,
(b) to foster positive competitive and team work attitudes, and
(c) to promote wellness and physical fitness.
During each camp, YAS staff members will take note of players who demonstrate strong positive leadership behavior both on and off the court at weekly YAS camps. The staff members will then nominate players to receive YAS leadership medallions at the end of the calendar year along with other community members who have also made leadership contributions during that year.
Note: There will not be MVP, all-star, scoring leader or similar individualistic considerations in deciding YAS leadership awards.
