Medallions were awarded to YAS 2006 graduates who demonstrated high levels
of effort toward improving their individual, team and social skills along with positive competitive behaviour such as team work, unselfishness, and sportsmanship
.

Expectations varied from player to player depending on their athletic ability and experience playing basketball.

A maximum of one-quarter of the players in any particular session were awarded medallions.

    Skills - reinforcement
    tournaments were held
    during afternoons of each
    YAS 2006 regular session.

    During the tournaments,
    each player played equally
    and under game pressures
    and situations they would
    experience during regular
    season games on their
    school teams.

    Players who finished in first
    place in the tournaments are
    listed below.

    Also listed are members of
the top 4 teams at the YAS
    North-South Ironman 4 on 4
    Tournament held Aug 17-18
    at the outstanding new
    University Regina Centre for
    Kinesiology, Health & Sports.

    During each YAS 2006
    session, every player's
    ball-handling and
    shooting skills were
    analyzed and
    developed
    through direct
    instruction followed by
    skills-reinforcement
    tournaments.

    Two of the tournaments
    were Pressure Treys
    (a 3 point shooting
    tournament) and L-7
    (a tournament in
    which players learned
    to maintain their
    scoring touch and
    accuracy while
    experiencing game-
    level fitness stresses
    and focus).

   During each weekly
   session every player's
   shooting skills were
   analyzed and developed.

   Every player was
   entered into a formal
   "high-pressure" Hot
   Shot Tournament that
   emphasized shot
   quickness and accuracy
   under game pressure.

   Hot Shot scores of 60
   or higher during 90
   seconds are listed below.

   The all-time YAS Hot
   Shot top scores since
   1983 can be viewed by

   Each player who
   graduated from a
   YAS session during
   2006 and also
   during 4 or more
   previous summers
   (not necessarily
   consecutive
   summers) received
   a plaque which
   noted the number
   of summers they
   had attended YAS.

   Plaque recipients
   during YAS 2006
   sessions are listed
   below.
